According to reports, the persons behind the cryptocurrency project DeFi100 may have escaped with USD 32 million in investor funds (approx $ 3Million). Such claims surfaced after a statement on the cryptocurrency project's website - DeFi100.org – terrified visitors by claiming that they had been "scammed" and that there was nothing they could do about it.Analysts on Twitter estimated the "scam" to be worth USD 32 million. It was unclear how the amount was arrived at. “DeFi100 coin exit schemes and escapes with $32 million, leaving a message for all of us. “It feels like the summer of 2017,” said Cryptokanoon co-founder Kashif Raza on Twitter.
However, the allegations of a fraud may not be genuine.
The fraudulent statement has already been deleted from the DeFi100 website. The person behind this cryptocurrency initiative allege that their website was hacked yesterday (May 22, 2021), and hackers displayed the fraudulent message. “The website was hacked yesterday, and the hackers displayed the message. It has been removed,” DeFi100 tweeted.
The DeFi100 website was down at the moment of writing this report, displaying errors and the phrase "Oops, looks like that page is lost."
